April is Stress Awareness Month. Stress is all around us. Though stress can be beneficial in motivating us toward change, it can also be harmful to our health and emotional well-being. According to the US Centers for Disease Prevention and Control, stress can lead to a wide variety of health conditions including impaired immune function, headaches, sleep problems, cardiovascular diseases, uncharacteristic anger, anxiety, and even depression.Not only is stress painful for those experiencing it, it is very expensive, costing up to $300 billion annually.

Yet, stress can be managed successfully.

Join Excelsior College’s School of Health Sciences faculty, Anna Zendell, PhD, MSW, and Carol Shenise, MS, RN, during the Live Chat on April 17 from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. They will respond to questions and comments, provide resources on managing stress, and describe some of what is known about the connections between mind, body and spirit.
