Meet Brie

Brie is a 5 month old but she already weighs at least 35lbs. so she is definitely going to be a big girl, we think she is mixed with either a lab or great pyrenese or possibly both! It is so hard to tell with rescue dogs. She needs to go to a home that understands that she could weigh anywhere from 60-100lbs full grown, and also somewhere that she has plenty of room to run and play and get her energy out, both inside and outdoors. She is very smart and learns things very quickly, she already knows sit, stay, lay down, shake paw, and get in your crate. She has been very good with housetraining but is still learning.

She is very laid back and happiest when she is laying on the couch or bed with people, she is not super high energy. She gets along great with other dogs, and quickly warms up to new dogs and wants to play with them. We are working with her but she is nervous of strangers and small children so would do best in a home with older or no children and hopefully another dog.

Please stop by an upcoming Meet & Greet to find out if Brie is the right pup for you! (Local adoptions preferred — Philadelphia and tri-state area [South Jersey and northern Delaware] only.)

NOTE: Most puppies do best in the company of an older dog who can teach them 'doggy manners,' so homes with at least one other dog will be given preference. Please read Suzanne Clothier's wonderful article, 'It Takes a Pack to Raise a Puppy!'

PLEASE READ BEFORE CONTACTING US! We are NOT a shelter. All of our dogs live in private homes with foster families. Come and meet the Almost Home dogs and their fosters at our Meet & Greet events. You can learn more about our wonderful dogs from the people who live with them, find out which dogs are on their way and when they'll arrive, and fill out an application to adopt or foster.

We cannot adopt to homes with electric-shock fences; for information, please visit Say No To Shock.

ADOPTION APPLICATION: Please e-mail us at AlmostHome4Dogs@yahoo.com to request an adoption application. FOSTER FAMILIES ARE LIFESAVERS!! Can you open your heart and home for a few weeks to homeless shelter dog? Remember, by fostering a dog, you save TWO lives that of your foster dog, and that of the dog who takes his place in the shelter! Come to a Meet & Greet and find out if fostering is for you there's no reward quite like the feeling that you've saved a life . . . or two!
