School districts grapple with budget shortfalls

School districts are warning parents to brace for changes as they work to deal with budget shortfalls.

Options on the table include job cuts and eliminating certain programs.

The Vancouver School Board district is facing a $12.3 million shortfall.

Cuts include everything from music to sports programs, to possibly giving students an extra week off in the fall.

Districts have been calling on the province to boost education funding, which they say is not keeping up with the cost of inflation.
