In a recent interview, Jourdan Dunn revealed that when she first moved to New York to start her modelling career age 16, she was on the phone to her mum every day “crying and complaining.” Fast forward a few years and it’s safe to say things have changed dramatically for the 23-year-old catwalk queen. In fact, Jourdan has today been unveiled as the new face of Maybelline, proof that she really was born with it.

Joining the ranks of Christy Turlington, Emily DiDonato and Julia Stegner, Dunn’s new venture with Maybelline marks her first signing as a beauty ambassador. Although she has previously appeared in beauty campaigns, including those for YSL and Burberry, this new role is a new step in Jourdan’s career. She says, “It’s an honour. I am proud to say that I am a Maybelline girl and hopefully I can make people feel the same way I did when I saw the advertisements growing up. The brand imagery is always beautiful and positive. To now be a part of that is a dream come true!"
