VANCOUVER – “I always put the west on my left hand and the east on my right hand,” said Chandler Severtson, who predicts the winners of each round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs – by painting them on her nails.
She became known online after the official NHL account tweeted out a photo of her nail predictions, along with the Montreal Canadiens Twitter account.
Severtson is a big hockey fan. Her room and her closet is a constant homage to hockey, but she hasn’t been a fan since birth, despite being brought up in a hockey household.
“My parents were really into hockey when I was younger,” she said. “But they were Flames fans though. That didn’t work out.”
It really was one particular Canuck that made Severtson put the ‘fan’ in fanatic.
“I blame it all on Kevin Bieksa,” she said. “He’s such a good role model.”
