Geddes, N.Y. — Wegmans is recalling subs and wraps sold Tuesday at its store on Onondaga Boulevard.

The company issued a recall today of subs and wraps containing turkey that were sold individually or as part of party trays.

Wegmans received two reports from customers of thin strands of plastic wrap in subs bought yesterday at the Onondaga Boulevard store's sub shop. The company said it found the outer plastic wrap on the turkey used to make the subs was not removed adequately before slicing.

It appears to have been a mistake by an employee, said Evelyn Carter, a spokeswoman for Wegmans. The company is still determining what action it will take to prevent similar problems in the future.

Customers first reported the plastic wrap last night. Wegmans began looking into the issue immediately, Carter said.

The store hasn't heard of anyone getting hurt or sick in connection with the recall.

Customers who bought the subs and wraps covered by the recall can visit the service desk at the Onondaga Boulevard store for a full refund.

The recall does not affect subs or wraps sold at any other Wegmans location.

Customers with questions can call the Onondaga Boulevard store at 315-478-3313.
