AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn University officials have cancelled classes and all other campus operations until Thursday due to a

of a campus building.

A notice sent out this morning states classes will resume at 7:15 a.m. Thursday.

The notice states authorities do not believe the threat is credible but asks anyone with concerns call 911 -- in an emergency --  or 334-501-3100.

The graffiti threat-- found in a restroom -- read as follows: "To whom it may concern. April 16th, 2014, I will unleash a rampage of biblical proportion across this tiny campus. You have been warned."

Caleb Mason, senior in pre-med, told the campus newspaper

he originally found the threat in the Haley Center about three weeks ago and said he called the police.

"I called the police, and they said they would look into it and I never heard back from them. I gave them my phone number and name." Mason said in that report.

Authorities called Mason Tuesday night asking for information regarding the situation.

"They said that they were going to be sending police to campus and taking care of it," Mason said.

The message has been scraped off and painted over.

In a statement, university spokesman Mike Clardy said the Auburn University Department of Public Safety & Security and the Auburn Police Division have been made aware of the threatening message.

"While no immediate threat has been substantiated, police presence has and will be increased in and around the campus of Auburn University," he said.

Today's cancellation comes exactly seven years after a gunman killed 32 and injured 17 in a shooting spree on the Virginia Tech campus.
