I've never looked at a 1929 Bentley Blower and thought it'd make a good tow vehicle, and I'm betting you haven't either. That's what makes Englishman Martin Overington such a visionary. He looked at the Bentley and saw possibility, and not only that, he picked out an amazing vehicle to tow—a Porsche 962 that raced at Le Mans in 1988.

And don't think this is just some stunt picture for social media. Via a colleague, Overington—who owns a classic-car vacation company—told us that he's towing the 962 from his UK home in Surrey to an event at the Angouleme Circuit des Remparts in France. There's even video of the two cars arriving at the hotel.

Overington told us that his friends asked him to display the 962 at the French circuit, but he wanted to bring his Bentley too. To "kill two birds with one stone" he decided to fit a tow bar to the Bentley to make his way down to the circuit in France.

His inspiration? "Part connivence, part insanity," he told us. And does the Bentley make a good tow vehicle? Not really:

"The brakes on the trailer are drastically better than the brakes on the Bentley which makes stopping 'interesting.' The Porsche is also considerably wider than the Bentley meaning I constantly have to watch what's happening behind when driving through the small villages in France. Overtaking is terrifying and lots of the driving has been in torrential rain making everything even more terrifying!"

Overington plans on towing the Porsche back to his home next week, and we wish him Godspeed. To use an overused term, he's a real hero.
