Report after report and survey after survey says Philadelphia is the place to be. Compared to its neighbor up north, New York, it’s pretty easy on the bank account. Compared to San Francisco’s shocking real estate market, it’s a dream.
Last year, a report revealed that Philly’s millennial population experienced the fastest growth among all major U.S. cities, rising 41 percent since 2016. And while our population growth has slowed, people—especially internationals—are coming to the city in droves. Even empty-nesters and baby boomers are leaving their multi-million dollar homes on the Main Line and moving to Philly for urban living.
And perhaps the most telling finding: Pew’s latest survey found that Philadelphians have never been more happy with the state of the city than right now. However, there are still some major issues we need to work out (cough, schools, cough) before everything is peachy-keen in Philly.
So we want to know from folks of all walks of life, millennial or baby boomer: Did you move to Philly in the past few years? How has that worked out for you?
