Breaking news: Crutchlow breaks hand in Texan crash

1 of 1

Cal Crutchlow has crashed out of the second round of the MotoGP championship, tangling with his machine and suffering a badly broken right hand in the process.

The Brit suffered all race with technical problems despite running as high as fourth, pitting for new tyres after chatter issues, and rejoining the race well outside the points.

He then suffered a high speed crash, appearing to get caught up with his Ducati as he fell and removing his right glove as soon as he stopped rolling before being stretchered to the medical centre, where he was diagnosed with a serious break to his hand.

With the next round in only two weeks in Argentina, Crutchlow looks set to miss out on the trip to South America.
