National Mental health month is celebrated every year in October and incorporates World Mental Health Day, held all over the world on the 10th of October. Each year the individual states adopt their own theme and slogan addressing various areas of mental and emotional wellbeing.
The campaign aims to improve awareness about mental wellbeing, increase help seeking behaviours, reduce stigma and understand the impact that it has on people, families and communities. This month encourages us to check in with our emotional wellbeing and provides us with opportunities to learn, support and engage in activities that highlight the importance of having positive mental health in our everyday lives.
