Windows 10 updates

Microsoft has just released new cumulative updates for the Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703), Fall Creators Update (version 1709), and April 2018 Update (version 1803) to introduce a series of quality improvements.

Build 17134.166 (KB4345421) is aimed at systems running Windows 10 April 2018 Update and it comes with several improvements that you can find below:

  • Addresses an issue that may cause some devices running network monitoring workloads to receive the 0xD1 Stop error because of a race condition after installing the July update.

  • Addresses an issue with the DHCP Failover server that may cause enterprise clients to receive an invalid configuration when requesting a new IP address. This results in a loss of connectivity.

  • Addresses an issue that may cause the restart of the SQL Server service to fail occasionally with the error, “Tcp port is already in use”.

  • Addresses an issue that occurs when an administrator tries to stop the World Wide Web Publishing Service (W3SVC). The W3SVC remains in a "stopping" state, but cannot fully stop or it cannot be restarted.

Windows 10 Fall Creators Update is getting KB4345420, which pushes build number to 16299.550 and it contains the exact same list of fixes. Windows 10 Creators Update (version 1703) will get KB4345419 (Build 15063.1208) with the same list of changes.

There are no known issues in these three updates, and it’ll certainly be interesting to see if everything goes smoothly for Windows 10 users given that cumulative updates on some systems could fail to install.
