Please join area stakeholders in natural resource conservation on Wednesday, April 2, to discuss regional priorities in conservation and restoration.

This workshop will build on a number of previous efforts — such as MetroGreen, the Natural Resource Inventory, and Eco-Logical transportation planning — to refine priorities that encourage future green infrastructure planning, including linkages between conservation and transportation plans.

Review Draft Criteria for Prioritization

With funding from the Missouri Department of Conservation, MARC has been working with The Conservation Fund to conduct a regional GIS analysis that will help prioritize forests and other natural resources for conservation.

At this workshop, The Conservation Fund will present a draft set of criteria — including previously discussed and highly valued ecosystem services such as clean air and water, quality of life and wildlife habitat — developed with input from a technical committee.

The program will provide an interactive opportunity for stakeholders (including both natural resource experts and the general public) to provide input on the overall process and help determine the weighting of the criteria.
