Business Analysis in Perspective

Register today to join business analysts from around the region at this professional development event.  You'll learn from nationally recognized speakers and business analysis practitioners as we explore the range of skills business analysts need to hone to ensure project and personal success in any environment, on any project.

The complete speaker schedule will be available soon. We'll post a link here as soon as it's ready.  Sessions will cover agile, collaboration, virtual requirements elicitation, requirements management, solution assessment and approaches for successful data-centric projects.  Kevin Brennen, Executive Vice President of IIBA, will deliver a keynote on The Past, Present and Future of Business Analysis.

Your registration fee includes parking, breakfast, lunch and snacks throughout the day, as well as the amazing content provided by our speakers.  You will also receive your conference swag, goodies from sponsors and tons of information. Take time to network with fellow attendees, sponsors and speakers.

Tips for a Successful Day

As you prepare to attend the PDD, keep in mind a few tips that will make your day even more beneficial.

  • Arrive early - Parking at Earle Brown is ample, and you can enter through any door. Just weave your way through the building to reach the registration desk. Early arrival ensures that you'll have time to get registered, grab some breakfast, and get a good seat for our opening presentation.
  • Dress in layers - All conference centers plan for large attendance, so room temperatures in the morning may be cool, but will likely warm throughout the day.  Business casual attire is the norm and a sweater or jacket is always a good accessory to ensure comfort throughout the day.
  • Bring a notebook - We're BAs. We're learning. We're probably going to take a LOT of notes.
  • Plan your sessions - Take some time before the event to check out the schedule and plan which sessions you'd like to attend.  Always plan for a backup, just in case your first choice is full.
  • Network - Network - Network! - The PDD brings BAs from around Minnesota into one location.  Sit with someone you don't know at lunch, strike up a conversation with your neighbor in a session.  You never know when that quick contact will lead to a friend, mentor, resource or even future employment referral.
  • Follow us on Twitter - Not a tweep yet?  Conferences are a great time to get into the tweeting groove and see what is coming out of other sessions. The conference's official hashtag is #msppdd And don't forget to follow @iibamspchapter.
