With the stresses of everyday life, let’s face it, we could all use a feel-good story.
And here is a great one, post-Thanksgiving, courtesy of an IKEA store in Catania, Italy.
It turns out the IKEA store there has recently opened its doors to stray dogs in the area, not just cut-outs of shelter dogs, as it did in a previous campaign with Home for Hope to encourage pet adoption.
The reaction has been phenomenal, with reports of some dogs even being adopted, according to the dodo.
What a great idea, adopting a pet as you also buy a comfy couch. Quite heartwarming, to say the least.
The benefits of pet ownership are numerous, including alleviating anxiety, and lowering blood pressure, along with easing the pain of loneliness.
Multiple studies have also noted how adopting a dog may also promote weight loss, the benefit of taking frequent walks throughout the day .
All in all, a win-win for IKEA customers in Catania, Italy and the dogs!
