An experimental super group of sorts, Waking Astronomer finds Alexa Lima, Jeremi Johnson (10th Letter), Brett Leggitt (Deku), Afua Richardson, and Saira Raza melding an instrumental palette of piano, flute, cello, vibraphone, bass, and subtle beats with cool, subterranean samples for a slowly burning hybrid of soulful, jazz, and electronic music textures.
