Wanchain Turns One — Video from Founder and CEO Jack Lu

Reflection on our 1st Year
The past year was definitely one to remember for everyone in crypto. We will all remember the market volatility, but also for the fantastic technological progress made across the entire industry. We are very proud of our contributions to the BUIDL movement this year, as we released three major product launches throughout the year. Now as we start 2019, we have Wanchain 3.0 live on mainnet. We have accomplished our roadmap that we laid out when we launched the company. Although we are very excited to be the leading provider of blockchain interoperability, we remain steadfast in our pursuit of mass adoption, excellent user experience, and bridging the traditional world to the Web 3.0 world. We thank you for going along this journey with us, and we can’t wait to share an even more exciting 2019 with you all. Please see below for an extensive overview of some of our accomplishments from Wanchain’s first year.
Sincerely,
The Wanchain Team

Wanchain 2.0 was the launch of the bridge to the Ethereum blockchain. The cross-chain mechanism uses Secure Multi-Party Computation (SMPC) to generate and store private keys in the transaction. These keys are held by nodes in the Wanchain network called Storeman nodes, using SMPC to split the private key across multiple nodes. Wanchain’s system can rebuild the private key using threshold key sharing even if some of the nodes are offline.
