Mini donuts will soon take over Jacksonville Beach.

Jacksonville natives Brooke Sams and her husband, Chase, are gearing up to open The Mini Bar, a coffee shop that offers an array of mini donuts.

Sams said the shop, at 1300 Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach, would offer coffee by Bold Bean Coffee Roasters and beer by local breweries such as Jacksonville Beach-based Southern Swells Brewing Co.

There will be 16 donut flavors, including s’mores, peanut butter cup, cookies n’ crème, jelly, birthday cake and a variety of glazes such as vanilla, strawberry, peanut butter and maple. A gluten-free donut also will be available.

Guests can also customize their own donuts with toppings like marshmallows, bacon, chocolate chips and sprinkles.

“All of them are made-to-order, so you’ll always get a hot donut,” Brooke Sams said. “You can see them being made and watch them come off the fryer.”

She added that donuts would be sold in quantities of three, six, 16, 25 and 35. A three-pack of donuts will be $2.25.

The 2,700-square-feet Mini Bar will have 30 seats and an outdoor courtyard with extra seating.

An orange VW bus will serve as the pick-up window for donuts.

“My husband’s first car was an orange VW bug, so that’s where that comes from,” Sams said. “It’s going to be an industrial and funky space.”

Sams said choosing Jacksonville Beach as the shop’s location was easy.

“We’ve both lived there for seven years and we love the community,” she said. “We wanted a destination place and there’s always something going on there.”

Sams said she’s targeting Dec. 1 as an opening date.

The Mini Bar will be open weekdays from 7 a.m.- 7 p.m. and weekends from 7 a.m.-9 p.m.
