God is Able

Ephesians 3:20

Daniel 3:1-33

1. God is able and trustworthy

The lesson we learn from Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the book of Daniel is that God is able and trustworthy. They believed that God is able to rescue them from the king’s hand. They also said but even if God doesn’t save them they would not going to worship other gods.

If God always rescued us we would not need faith.  Faith is not always getting whatever we need from God. Faith is leaning to hear God say ‘no’ to our prayers.

People use trials and sufferings to explain that God does not exist.

The three men could have many excuses to worship other gods and why.

Trusting God always gives God an option to say no.

2. God is able to take us through firery times in our lives.

The three friends went through a fiery situation – literally. But thy came out of without even a smell of smoke form their bodies not to mention scars or burns.

There are many different fiery situations in our lives. And we cannot let the smells of these situations stick to us. We need to trust God that he can help us come out of them.

Often we allow the smell of our past experiences to influence the way we look at the world around us.

3. God is able and looking to reward faith

The king later praised the God. And the three men got promoted.

Do I have faith like Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? Do I trust God can make miracles in my live?
