AUBURN, Alabama -- Faxes have started rolling into Auburn's Signing Day headquarters, and AL.com's beat writers are publishing profiles of each signee as Tigers coach Gus Malzahn announces the next prize in Auburn's 2014 signing class.

Myron Burton Jr.

School: Peachtree Ridge (Lawrenceville, Ga.)

Position: Wide receiver

Height, Weight: 6-foot-3, 200 pounds

247Sports Composite: Burton is rated a three-star prospect by the recruiting services, checking in as the No. 76 athlete nationally and 89th in the state of Georgia.

Other schools: Clemson, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, Minnesota

How he fits into Auburn's plans: A versatile athlete who was asked to play running back, quarterback, linebacker and wide receiver in his high school career, Burton will settle down at receiver with the Tigers, bringing a big body to the outside for Auburn and possibly learning behind junior college transfer D'haquille Williams, a similar player who also excels at using his body and his hands to make plays in the air. Burton has been all over the field too much to develop a true recruiting following, but he was productive at receiver as a senior, catching 53 passes for 673 yards and six touchdowns. In addition, his family knows Auburn well; his dad, Myron Sr., played defensive line at Auburn in the mid-1990's.

Projection for 2014: Burton, the only one of Auburn's three receiver commits who isn't already on campus, seems like the developmental pass-catcher in this class, a raw prospect who hasn't played the position for long and might need some seasoning. With Williams, Sammie Coates, Ricardo Louis, Jaylon Denson, Tony Stevens and others on hand to play the outside, though, Burton doesn't have to be pressed into duty too soon at the wide receiver position, allowing him to continue to learn to use his body and pick up the offense before he steps into the gap for some of the Tigers' current stars when they move on to the NFL.
