Spanish Fork River Trail

One April afternoon a friend phoned me wanting to go on a hike. When I asked him where he wanted to go, he didn't have an answer for me. Google did. I searched for close hikes near our location and the Spanish Fork River Trail popped up.

Now, I'll be upfront and honest here. This hike didn't turn out to be what I wanted or expected it to be. Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.

I was hoping for a short trail through the mountains. The GPS took us to the middle of Spanish Fork, Utah. I was confused at first and was debating searching Google again to get better results. I'm glad that I stuck with my initial efforts though.

We parked at the Spanish Fork Sports Park and followed the paved trail. As you can probably guess, this isn't your typical hike. It's mostly just a trail alongside the Spanish Fork River. However, it takes you around the outside of the city where most houses aren't located.

The end result is a scenic river tour, and I loved every minute of it.

The trail extends for quite some time. I only went for about an hour before turning back. There are signs, however, that show the trail looping back to the park. So, if you have the time, you can wander all around Spanish Fork, courtesy of the Spanish Fork River Trail.

If you're looking for an easy walk with scenic views, this is the trail for you. The trail is virtually always flat, so I didn't exert much effort on the trail. It was a great experience that I'm sure you'll enjoy as well.
