#SEO Experts Silently Rock Your #Website

Some of you may remember the year 2000 or better 14 years ago. I can’t recall a job description for a SEO Expert then. I remember when I was working as a web producer/web project manager SEO was part of my job description and we didn’t call it SEO. My responsibilities were to develop the pages with W3C.org and Web Accessibility in mind, educate the content creators on how to “write-for-the-web,” keep educated on new HTML, JavaScript & CSS code updates and work closely with SEM to synchronize the usage of appropriate keywords and keyword phrases. I have noticed many other professions had to understand SEO as part of their job description in those days; here are some of the examples:

  • Web Programmers—knew that Web Performance, proper Network Connectivity, DNS servers, databases, caching elements etc. were important to bring web users’ to the website via search engines
  • Content Creator/Web Editors—became educated how to writing-for-the-web by placing keywords in the (browser) title, write unique meta descriptions, place keywords in the <H1> tags, make sure first two paragraphs are well written including keywords, keep them interested, make sure to cross link correctly etc.
  • Graphic Designers—understood to create optimized web graphics and videos in the appropriate format and with optimized caching etc.

Today, it is surprising to see that much of the unwritten rule of knowing and understanding SEO is no longer part of the job description of many web and internet professions.
A SEO Expert in a large corporation can be the silent rock behind the success of the website as they are keenly aware of today’s technical issues, search engines updates, user behavior, and have the ability to shorten the readiness for integration of innovative web technologies. Most SEO Experts I spoke to are passionate about their work and embrace the changes and directions the internet is going.

My experience is that a SEO Expert can be compared to the head coach of any team. Head coaches know everything about his/her players. Head coaches know about their player’s position (responsibilities), their strengths, their weaknesses, their technical and teamwork capabilities and more. Head coaches know when to guide the offensive team and when to strengthen the defensive team. When SEO Experts are fully integrated, accepted and respected into Web, Social Media, Demand Generation, IT and Corporate Communications Team as their “coach” success is guaranteed.

SEO Experts can only be successful with a team that recognizes and understands the integral part of SEO and the immense ROI value long-term. 2014 is all about engaging and sharing information. Don’t underestimate SEO Expert contribution and also don’t expect miracles and don't expect to see instant results on your ROI metrics, Rome wasn’t built in one day. SEO success has to be measured holistically by tracking traffic to your site, monitor the increase of mobile traffic, social media influences and overall reputation. SEO needs to be taken seriously especially when you are planning your business to be around for a long time.

The same cliches everytime. I am really bored of these, most of seos are lying. You are not doing any valuable thing any more and whatever you do is emtpty. Just accept it and find another job.
