Update: Snowplow driver to irate man: 'I'll move the snow, please don't shoot me'
A man frustrated with snow removal efforts at his apartment complex shot at a snowplow Tuesday morning, shattering the windshield, police said
A 39-year-old man was arrested after shooting a round at the snowplow driver around 7:30 a.m. at the Valley Ranch Apartments in the 1400 block of Oak Valley Drive of Pittsfield Township.
Pittsfield Township police Deputy Chief Gordy Schick said the man was upset because the snow wasn't being removed from around his wife's vehicle.
A release sent out by police later on Tuesday stated the man was mad because snow had been placed around the car, preventing him from getting it out.
The 39-year-old Pittsfield Township man confronted the snowplow driver.
“He pointed the handgun at the snowplow and fired a shot into the window,” Schick said.
The windshield shattered, but the driver was unharmed. Just one shot was fired.
The 39-year-old, who holds a concealed pistol license, surrendered his gun and turned himself in, Schick said.
He was being held at the Washtenaw County Jail pending authorization of charges by the prosecutor's office. The man could be charged with assault with intent to murder.
The snowplow was one of five or six trucks out removing snow from the parking lot Tuesday morning after more than 4 more inches of snow fell. The truck belongs to a private firm contracted by the apartment complex, The windshield will cost about $2,500 to replace, Schick said.
