Mike Bajakian will not need on the job training when he assumes the dual role of offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Boston College next season.

BC coach Steve Addazio announced on Monday that Bajakian, who spent the last three seasons as quarterbacks coach on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, would replace Scot Loeffler in both capacities. Loeffler left BC after three seasons to become the head coach at Bowling Green.

Bajakian served as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Central Michigan (2007-2009), Cincinnati (2010-2012) and Tennessee (2013-2014) and instructed former Heisman Trophy winner Jameis Winston (Florida State) in Tampa.

Bajakian will work with returning starter Anthony Brown and backups EJ Perry and Matt McDonald. Sam Johnson, a four-star recruit from Wixom, Mich., enrolled this month and will be available for spring ball.

“Mike has shown throughout his career he is an excellent offensive mind and a terrific quarterbacks coach,” said Addazio. “He has had great success developing quarterbacks in the NFL and the collegiate level and will be a tremendous addition to our staff.”
