Final Fantasy VII-Inspired RPG “Light Fairytale” Sets Eyes on Console and PC Release

One-man studio neko.works is seeking funding for its Final Fantasy VII-inspired, Japanese style-RPG, Light Fairytale. Considered a modern take on retro classics, the game is “set in a dying underground world ruled by a fierce empire” in which protagonist Haru dreams of a better world and embarks on a journey to discover its mysteries. Check out a trailer above.

In a press release, the French developer listed the following key features:

– Beautiful and detailed 3D graphics.

– Old-school turn-based battle system.

– Simple yet touching story with a nostalgic feel.

– Cute chibi characters!

neko.works is seeking €30,000 via its Kickstarter campaign. At present, the project is 25 percent funded with four days to go. The game’s first episode will be out on July 2017 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, in English as well as Japanese.
