Can Donald Trump's historically bad poll numbers among black voters get even worse? We may be about to find out.

The The News & Observer of Raleigh reports that Donald Trump called one of his own supporters a "thug" during a rally in North Carolina this week after he mistook the man for a protester.

The man, a Nash County resident named C.J. Cary, was trying to get Trump's attention during the rally because he wanted to give him a note that asked him to consider acting more polite and to be more welcoming to minority voters.

Trump, however, saw Cary waving a note at him and mistook him for a protester.

"Were you paid $1,500 to be a thug?" Trump sneered at him. "You can get him out. Get him out!"

As he was being escorted out of the rally, Cary asked security staffers to pass on his note to the candidate, which they agreed to do.

Despite being called a "thug" and tossed out of the rally, however, Cary writes on Twitter that he still supports Trump for president. In fact, Cary said it was understandable that Trump thought he was a protester given how many black people have been giving him "hate" throughout his campaign.
