The day after Christmas 2013 one of the candles in our Friends group flickered, then went out.
Dr. Mimi was an integral part of Friends. She fed our mission with her infectious smile, a go forward attitude and wonderful ideas on how families can better enjoy our San Tan Mountain Regional Park.
Dr. Mimi enthusiastically spearheaded a photo contest for children and adults as well as numerous photo hikes for families and dogs.
She got families to focus on the beauty of the park not by its vastness and with a sweeping hand, but through a view finder and instructions on composition. Focus was not just to improve a photo, but to understand the true beauty of the park she loved so much.
Dr. Mimi’s smile, wit and contributions will be greatly missed and our Friends group plan to honor her memory with a future project.
