To mark the one year anniversary of the Chicago Riverwalk’s completion, design firm Sasaki has released a video showing the 1.25-mile-long linear waterfront park from a striking new angle. The Massachusetts-based firm served as prime consultant on phases two and three of the award-winning project in collaboration with Chicago’s Ross Barney Architects.

While the video provides pedestrian level perspectives of the riverwalk, the top views are the panoramic aerial shots showing the park nestled amongst some of the best architecture the Windy City has to offer. Equally satisfying is seeing the waterfront promenade getting so much use from joggers, dog walkers, kayakers, and diners alike.

While the sun has set on Chicago’s best outdoor season, the footage is a pleasant reminder of warmer temps and longer days that await in spring.
