PLOVER, WI— The Women in Trucking Association and  Navistar are  looking for candidates for the 2014 Influential Woman In Trucking award. It’s the fourth year the award is given out.

The award recognizes women who make or influence key decisions in a corporate, manufacturing, supplier, owner-operator, driver, sales or dealership setting. The winner must have a proven record of responsibility and have mentored or served as a role model to other women in the industry. 

WIT and Navistar teamed up to develop the award in 2010 as a way to honor female leaders in trucking, and to attract and advance women to the transportation industry.

Nominations are accepted until January, 31, and can be submitted here.

The winner will be announced on March 25 at the Truckload Carriers Association convention in Grapevine, Texas.

Here are the past award winners:

2013- Rebecca Brewster, the president and chief operating officer of the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI), where she’s served for over 10 years. Her leadership has influenced industry leaders on topics ranging from driver retention to driver health.

2012- Joyce Brenny, the owner of Brenny Transportation, Inc. and Brenny Specialized, Inc. She founded Brenny founded Brenny Transportation, Inc., based in St. Cloud, Minnesota, in 1996 and grew the company from three employees to a more than $15 million-company.

2011- Rochelle Gorman, the chief executive officer, of CalArk International. The company was founded in 1975 by Gorman’s father, Tom Bartholomew, who started the company with two trucks. Gorman took the top position in the late ‘90s and tripled the company’s revenues.
