Chandler Parsons couldn't feel his face Friday night.

The former University of Florida standout and current Houston Rockets forward set an NBA record for made 3-pointers in a half with 10 in his team's matchup at home against Memphis.

The 6-foot-9, 227-pounder went 10-for-11 from deep after starting the game 0-for-3 behind the arch to to finish with a career-high 34 points.

""I was pretty much unconscious. My body went numb," Parsons said when asked about his second-half shooting. "I've never felt that feeling on a basketball court before."

The previous record was held by Brooklyn Nets point guard Deron Williams, who hits 9 3-pointers in a half in a game last season.

However, despite his performance, which also set a franchise record for 3-pointers in a game, Parsons didn't take a shot with his team down a point late in the game. Instead, Houston point guard Patrick Beverley jacked misfired on what would've been a go-ahead basket and the Rockets fell 88-87 to drop to 29-16 on the season.

Courtney Lee led Memphis with 19 points.

Parsons was the first player at Florida to win SEC Player of the Year honors in 2011 before being taken in the second round of the NBA Draft the same year. Playing for a $850,000, he's averaging 17 points, five rebounds and three assists a game.

The Rockets play at Memphis tonight.
