Deep in the heart of New York City’s netherworld, a horrible disease is ravaging the vampire community. The Vampire Council is on a crusade to obliterate those infected, and Harrow Gates is target Number One. The unwitting source of the plague, he suffers from the same nightmarish symptoms as his victims. The world he'd been thrust into was cold, cruel, and intent on eradicating him, and the legions of afflicted vampires he created with his bite.

A bounty hanging over his head, satisfying his hunger has become an enormous challenge for Harrow. The less he feeds, the more hideous and painful his lesions become. Constantly running for his life and learning new tricks to survive, Harrow is in no position to refuse when Pritchard Tack offers him a unique opportunity. Pritchard not only gives Harrow a new beginning, but also a purpose and a chance to rectify the chaos he created in the vampire world. However, the multi-billionaire has an agenda of his own.

Jordan is a reluctant new vampire and a woman on a mission. After the demise of her family and her own transformation at the hands of Goran, the ruthless leader of the Vampire Council, her only focus is revenge. Constantly faced with one frustrating dead-end after another, a stroke of luck leads her to an underground facility that she suspects is the lair of the monster for whom she is looking.

Upon learning more about the truth behind the secret bunker, Jordan must fight against her growing feelings of friendship and concern for the facility’s inhabitants. One man in particular threatens to pull her heart away from her sworn mission. There is something behind Harrow’s dark lenses that unsettles the hardened female. Once again, she trembles and hungers for something other than red-stained revenge. Is love strong enough to override her hate-fueled thirst for vengeance?

I won this book through Firstreads and I'am so glad I did. I thought this book was amazing and very original, a very different take on vampires now I look at that genre a different way and that is in a good way. It is very well written and you feel like your in the book and feeling the emotions of the characters. It as so many twist and every character as thier own story. It show's you how human's and vampires can worked together to help each other.
It's about Hallow Gates a vampire who has a disease which can infect humans and vampires and Pritchard Tack who has his own reasons to find a cure for the disease and he has a large facility of humans and vampires working together to find the cure, his soliders capture Hallow and another vampire who was trying to kill Hallow for his own reasons as they beleive Hallow can help them find a cure. Hallow is such a strong and doesn't eant to hurt anyone else and will do anything he csn to help. Then there is Jorden a buetiful Vampire who is out for revenge and she is captured while snooping around Pritchard's facility. This is only some of the character's their are more but I don't want to give to much away. Hallow and Jorden find a special love between them and It changes both their lifes, it was a hard road for them both but in the end it was worth it.
I don't want to say no more as it's best you read it yourself as their is so much that went into this book that you just can't miss reading it, once I finished it I found myself thinking about it often and going through the emotions that the characters who feeling. A great book Lorenz Font and I thank you for giving me this chance to read it. I can't for the next book to come out.

"When she looked into his eyes she saw the myraid emotions flicker in the man's eyes when their gazes locked. If one's eyes were the mirror to one's soul, this man had everything out in the open for everyone to see. Pain, torture, mortification, loathing, weakness, and desire and yet, he held his haed high as he stood before her"

This is just NOT a vampire novel!

This is a totally new take on a popular genre. Very original. And the author's writing style keeps you interested and draws you in the story. Definitely a page turner. The characters were so well written that you can't help but take them with you even when you are done with the book. I love the story and can't wait for the release of the second book.

I received the ARC for The Gates Legacy, and let me tell you what a great surprise I got. I've been fan of vampire novels since I was a teenager, but let me tell you that Harrow Gates has found a new place in my heart. What a sexy vampire he is, got the charm, the compassion, what else could you ask for?

The book itself is brilliant, Lorenz Font has outdone herself with this great new series. I couldn't put this down once I started, now I'm reading the second one and I can't do spoilers but damn is such a great continuation of this book. I love the multiple POV in the book, the way it is written that makes the character's story lines overlap and merge, but what I liked the most is the interpretation of the vampires Lorenz Font has given into the series. The fact that the vampires aren't immune and the romance factor will trap you.

Grab this book now, you won't be disappointed, in fact you'll be begging for the next one … fortunately for you it is almost here!!!

Idea of these kind of vampires is really interesting and structure of this vampire race have so many possibilities.
I liked how there was so many amazing characters and you could fully get absorbed to minds of each of them.

Main characters Harrow and Jordan had each their own demons to oppress them and it was really interesting read their past and what things had led them to be persons they are now, and to read them grow even in just this story was well written and it was convincing and it didn't feel forced. Jordan's past and her turning was really sad and during reading forward chapter by chapter and after learning about Goran's obsession to red heads there is two possibilities in my mind; 1# that Jordan is really his daughter 2# that in some point when he sees her again he wants her himself. Harrow was amazing character alone too, and I liked to read when he was just training or talking with others.

Each side character made me feel for them and made me want to learn more of them; their reasons why they are helping and about their pasts. I noticed many potential pairings that could work on in next books to come.

Antagonists were they too interesting, and I felt that the worst of them was Goran. His son seems to me bit confused character because I feel that his evil ways have just come from trying to please his father, but he still despised him and maybe part of this despise comes from how Goran uses Melissa for his own pleasure. I think in some books there is possibility that he and Melissa will take power over him and maybe even get him killed. The relationship he has with his mother is really unique. In parts I felt that he was more interested in men than women, but maybe that is part of their vampirism.

Soon as I had started to read this book it compelled me to read it without taking breaks. And when I had last 10 pages left, my reader broke down. I panicked because I wanted to find out fast what would happen next, fortunately it was quick fix.

I truly LOVED this book and I can't wait to read next books and what will happen next.

Thank you Lorenz Font for writing this story!

For being someone who thinks that vampire novels have become seriously ridiculous, this book offered me some redemption. For once, I didn't feel like this was a simple repeat of a book that had already been written, and Lorenz Font pleasantly surprised me with the humour and wit included in this book.

Even coming into this book with the preconceived notion that I would likely be unhappy with the results, the author managed to convince me early on that this novel was going to be different and was going to be worth the time to read. Her characters have a lot of personality and keep getting more interesting as the story progresses.

Rather than giving her characters all of the typical vampire attributes, the author managed a nice blend of traditional features and very creative modern ones. I liked the use of special weapons and the disease angle was very interesting. Overall I thought this was an intelligently written story with easy to visualise characters and interesting plot twists.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a captivating story. It really isn't your basic vampire book.

I didn't realize how much I love vampire novels until recently. This book continues to fuel this love affair! Jordan is a strong female who has been dealt a crappy hand. Harrow is the anti-hero that most see as weak because of his disease. The supporting characters make this story so complex you feel like you have become part of the family. The way the author describes everything you have no trouble putting yourself in their world. This is more than just a vampire book, though. We see how the characters begin to see beyond the surface and develop an acceptance for those who are different. I really enjoyed this book. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series! 4 out of 5! {babusbookshelf.blogspot.com}

Fanged, red-eyed creatures with a thirst for human blood? Check.

Sensitivity to sunlight and unknown to most humans? Check.

An intricately woven plot line that is sure to enthrall young and old, boys and girls alike? Check!

However, let me begin this review with one crucial warning: Don’t pull back the cover of Hunted until you are clearheaded, and will be left alone until you finish. Interruptions will not be welcome!

Hunted makes you think. This isn't a ‘sit back and enjoy the ride’ type of read; no, this is a ‘grab the reader and make them participate’ type of read. With a large ensemble of characters and multiple subplots the reader needs to have their wits about them to keep up, especially since the POV shifts throughout the book.

Font has created a new vampire world where the mythical creatures of old have been – revamped. (Excuse the pun, but you can read Font’s guest post on why her vampires are different at www.rehargrave.com). The predominant change is that her vamps are not immune to disease, and her male lead Harrow Gates is responsible. With this jumping point the author begins a gradual colliding and overlapping of four distinct paths: Harrow, Jordan, Demetrius and Goran, and the Tacks. There are a number of other characters, too, but for me these were the big ones.

Harrow lives with a certain degree of guilt, and is just trying to survive when we meet him. Jordan, on the other hand, is on a course of revenge for the wrongs done to her and her family, and is willing to take down anyone that gets in her way – at first. Goran and his son Demetrius have their own silent issues with each other, but on a grander scale represent the bad guys. Goran has a fixation for red-heads, and what do you know, Jordan happens to be one! The Tacks are where the humans are introduced into the story when Pritchard Tack, billionaire, sets up a secret facility to try to help the diseased vampires of the world find a cure. Why? Because his daughter Allison is one of them.

Tack Enterprises becomes the central hub for the good guys, and where Jordan and Harrow get a chance to know each other. What follows is a humorous yet tumultuous budding romance. He’s diseased, she’s not – so until a cure is found any physical declaration of their feelings for each other is considered a bad idea. You’ll have to read the book to find out if they decide to throw caution to the wind and risk it all for love.

"Yeah, I – have no idea how I got here in the first place." Jordan sighed again. Looking over the dark horizon in the moonlight, the shadow of the lit buildings cast an eerie glow, rendering the sight haunting – foreboding, even. Somewhere out there lived the man she was looking for, the one who had altered her life forever. Haste and impatient motivation would have to take a back seat if she wanted to find him and carry out her revenge. Careful planning was in order. Taking out a man as powerful as Goran without solid preparation was suicide at best.
. . .

The thought of Harrow crept into her mind. The vision of his wounded expression never left her. It nibbled at the recesses of her subconscious, reminding her how hasty she had been and how far she had let her anger take her, when she'd dumped all her frustrations on him. She remembered with vivid clarity the wordless derision she'd felt and had manifested in her eyes; the timbre of her voice as she'd ordered him to stay away from her. Ignorance was bliss, and if she hadn't known what was wrong with him, she might still be able to keep herself aloof from the whole situation. Having learned from Allison and Pritchard what the disease was all about armed her with disgust for herself and took away the possibility of the detached approach she would rather have kept out of sheer self-preservation.

Hunted is only book one in The Gates Legacy, and so much is packed into it. I've touched just briefly on some of the many facets, but feel I should add that there’s something for everyone with this tale as long as the reader enjoys the paranormal: action packed fight scenes, tender romantic moments, bouts of humor that will leave you asking if that really just happened, questions answered and more created (it is a series after all), and for that final sweet awwww factor, there’s even an adorable, orphaned, little red-haired girl named Gail. She won the hearts of Harrow and Jordan, so I’ll bet she’ll win yours, too.

I'm a bit of a self-confessed vampire addict, and this book has trace elements that remind me of some of my favorites: Black Dagger Brotherhood, Anita Blake, and even a little Twilight. What are you waiting for? Get your copy of Hunted today (if you haven’t already!)

Now, I am a HUGE fan of the vampire genre, both literary and cinematic. I’ll give most things vampiric a chance, especially if they put their own twist on the typical creatures of legend. This is the main reason I picked up Hunted, which proved true to its synopsis. It was a really interesting read that is definitely set apart from most (possibly all recent) depictions of vampires. Lorenz Font does a great job intertwining multiple character arcs together, showing how seemingly unrelated actions can massively affect the lives of others.

Font’s world of vampires isn’t your Stephenie Meyer’s version, nor is it reminiscent of Anne Rice. While the action and romance may make some believe this is like the Black Dagger Brotherhood, it really isn’t. Hunted stands on its own merits in a world belonging wholly to Ms. Font. Our protagonist, Harrow Gates, is extremely handsome. It’s the thing everyone notices and picks up on. This, however, is where his likeness to those of the male protagonists in the aforementioned series ends. You see, Harrow is actually incredibly likable. He is affable and seems to take things in good stride. He repays kindness with kindness, and at times, seems to even repay the harshness he receives with an understanding nod. While Edward (Cullen) and Louis (de Pointe du Lac) constantly mourn their loss of humanity despite the richness their current immortal lives offer, Harrow plods along and makes the most of his life. Sure, he feels sorrow for what he lost at times, but he seems to be okay with the life he has now, which is incredible given his immortality comes with a catch, a disease that affects those he comes into close contact with, both humans and vampires alike.

The secondary characters in Hunted are just as well developed as Harrow. Each have their own set of issues that drove them towards each other. Jordan, the reluctant vampire set upon destroying her maker. Allison, the innocent diseased vampire looking to bring back a sense of normalcy to her life after an attack left her motherless. Pritchard, a millionaire looking to protect humans and vampires alike from this seemingly incurable disease. Tor, a brawn over brains thug with a vendetta against the diseased. Even though this is only the first book in the Gates Legacy series, I’m astounded at how much Font was able to tell us about each of these characters, and can only imagine how these characters and their stories will continue to unfold and evolve as the series progresses.

While forging her own way in the vampire niche, Hunted also makes use of the traditional vampiric metaphors made popular by Stoker. The taking of blood is a metaphor for sex. It elicits the same sort of pleasure for the biter. The disease Harrow unknowingly introduces to the public shares attributes with HIV/AIDS. Both can be transmitted through sex, though in Harrow’s case, it can also be transmitted through biting. Font carefully navigates through this barely veiled metaphor, depicting multiple sides to the issue. Scientists trying to cure it, the infected parties trying to live responsibly to prevent others from catching it, other infected parties so angry at having caught it that they set out to infect others, the small minded that only want to destroy all infected regardless of contamination source, and then those that are in love with the infected, having to learn to maneuver through hoops at a chance of intimacy.

Overall, it is amazing that Font was able to introduce so much information at once in a book that is a relatively quick read. The negatives aren’t anything grand, nor do they detract from the story. The beginning may start a bit slow, though I think that is more due to the impatience of the reader to find out what is going to happen, rather than hesitant writing. The romances seemed to escalate from zero to fifty out of nowhere, but like I said, it doesn’t really affect the quality of the story.

I rated this book at 3.5 stars, but will round it up to 4 considering it is only the first book in a series, and therefore had a lot of groundwork to lay down.

I want to be clear, I normally don't like books about vampires, as a matter of fact this was my first vampire book I have read. The beginning was difficult for me to follow because there were so many characters and story lines and I wasn't use to the vampire life style, BUT that was only in the beginning of the book, very shortly after that, things became clear, there was evil versus good and there was no more confusion.

Harrow is a vampire with morals and the desire to protect humanity. His life as a human had been taken from him along with his family and his passion for theater and acting. Not only did he become a vampire, he was also handed an illness that caused severe pain and sores if he didn't continue to feed. This was an issue he wrestled with, does he save himself and feed off other humans or does he suffer the pain alone. Oh how he takes charge of things, shows love to the people in his life. He seriously reminded me of Sawyer (Josh Holloway) from the television show Lost. Yes I fell in love with Harrow. Melted my heart and made me want to go slay his dragons so he could be happy.

Jordan, the daughter of two parents who loved her dearly and wanted to teach her to love the outdoors, was faced with a horrible attack on her family. An evil vampire who has no desire to do anything other than fill his needs, killed her parents in front of her and attacked her. She survived but she was never able to go back to her normal life now that she was a vampire. She let isolation and revenge take over her world and vowed to make the monster pay for what he took from her. She is a spit fire who has no common sense when it comes to her own safety. She loves Harrow to, but she really resist feeling anything other than revenge. Watching her walls slowly come down was beautiful and made you celebrate as she progressed in life to see that revenge wasn't everything, she needed to trust her heart more.

Pritchard, who was a human, suffered from the vampire attacks as his wife and daughter had been subjected to evil vampires. His wife couldn't live with the change and she passed on but he vowed to find a cure for his daughter. He took his wealth and established a compound for the infected vampires in hopes that he could find a cure and not only save his daughter but also the good vampires.

As you progress in the book, it becomes clear who is good and who is evil, but this author had a way of making you feel a connection with each character. There are points in the book that you can feel empathy for an evil one, just because you know what battles they are fighting, you can also easily hate some of them because you just want them to suffer like they make others suffer. I found myself crying over the ones lost, I also felt heart break at watching Harrow hide his feelings for Jordan in order to protect her from the illness he carried, yet she was free from.

Two huge aspects of this book that caused me to give it a 5 star rating, other than it is just wonderfully written and fast paced, is Ms. Font writes in a way that you literally feel you are watching a big screen movie. Usually when I read, I visualize the scenes in real life, with this book I was sitting in front of a television or movie screen watching it all unfold. Feeling the fear, getting the adrenaline rush that the characters were experiencing. I was celebrating the victories and crying, or in my case, sobbing the loss of characters I had grown to love. This was an awesome experience that I had never before had with a book. Also she has of way of making you think about where you stand in regards to morals and human change. How do we treat others, what are we willing to risk to protect those we love. It wasn't all entertainment, I will walk away from this book looking at events in a different way. What can I do, what am I willing to give to make this world a better place.

I know that there are as many ways to look at vampires as there are people on this earth but I can honestly say I never thought of it the way Ms. Font presents it. She opens an entirely new world where vampires are pretty much ignored, if known about at all by humans. From the first scene I was entranced by Harrow and his unwillingness to succumb to a terrible virus he has had since he was first changed into a vampire. No matter how horrible his life has become and even though he is hunted by the Vampire Council because of his illness, he still holds to his humanity, his conscience, and his will to live. He carries around so much guilt that he has even found a way to keep from spreading the "virus" to any other vampires. He is a truly humble hero.

Then enters Jordan, who quickly becomes the love of his life and someone he cannot live without. Jordan is a kick ass no holds barred vampire out for blood and vengeance against the vampire that killed her parents and made her what she is today. The circumstances of their meeting is what makes this book the most different from any other book of this genre. Pritchard Tack is an incredibly wealthy man, whose wife and daughter were turned into vampires and then contracted the virus. Not long after his wife committed suicide. From that moment forward Pritchard decided to search for the cure to the virus. He has set up an incredible facility where research into the cure is done. He abducts and then befriends infected vampires as well as uninfected vampires to add in the research of the virus! Pritchard really is an incredible guy that has everyone's best interests at heart. As the story progresses this rag tag bunch of misfits all come together to form an incredible "family" that even though they are unaware are battling the very cruel, very evil Vampire Council.

Speaking of the Vampire Council, no paranormal vampire story is complete without an incredible evil to fight and believe me Ms. Font has created a big, bad, horrible villian in the leader of the Vampire Council, Goran and his son, Demetrius. As if that was not enough evil, there is also the leader of his harem and first wife, Melissa. Suffice it to say this story is an amazing balance of good and evil and love and hate.

Another difference between this story and others of its kind is the path the romance between Harrow and Jordan takes. It is incredibly sensual and stirs up an incredible heat without the use of explicit language or descriptions. This incredible love affair, that you believe will endure all, stays true to the incredible character depth Ms. Font has built into the hero and heroine. You can feel the incredible struggle they both go through to realize, come to terms with and act upon their amazing love. It only adds to the great suspense and action of the entire book.

I have only touched on a few of the incredible points of this book, so you should grab it as soon as you can read it from cover to cover! The best part is, it is the first in the series! The next features two great secondary characters from this book and I cannot wait to see where Ms. Font takes this great adventure!

Man, was it good to read a paranormal book after my month-long hiatus from the genre! Hunted was an awesome welcome-back book. It is unique, original and I really enjoyed reading it.

Ms. Font created amazing characters. They are the kind of characters that you either love fiercely or hate passionately. I seriously wanted to kill some of the characters, but I mostly loved all of them. They are witty, sarcastic, stubborn, kind and loving people. They are just a great family and they will make you want to be a part of it.

It is a really sweet romance and even though some parts of the book are somewhat graphic, you don't really get anything from the main couple except kisses. Although Hunted is not completely all about the romance; there is a lot that happens in this book and you can't really say it's about one thing in particular.

Hunted is filled with mystery, family, friendship, discovery, lessons, and love. It made me laugh a lot, but it also broke my heart and made me want to cry at times. The characters' pain and suffering will get inside your heart and make it ache, but Hunted will also give you hope with the pain. It gives the hope that a cure will be found, justice will be met someday, and that life will be better.

There were a lot things I loved about this book. I loved the mystery of the disease and the search for the cure. I loved the characters, the humor, and the beauty. I just loved it and I'm very excited to read Tor's book next!

Hunted is a standalone, told from multiple points of view, and it does end in a happily ever after. ~ Paige, 4.5 stars

Hunted (The Gates Legacy #1) by Lorenz Font
Review by: Nerd Girl Amber

Let me just start of by saying, “WOW!” This book certainly had it’s own original style that just seems to draw the reader into this world and makes you not want to leave! It is a totally new take on the genre and I am quite pleased that it was not a twilight, Vampire Diaries, true blood wannabe book. The author created her own unique version and storyline to the genre. It had me on the edge of my seat. I could HONESTLY not put this book down! Definitely a page turner!

This book had a very strong, unique and exciting storyline with characters that you will continue to take with you LONG after you’ve finished the book. For vampire lovers everywhere… You should MOST DEFINITELY put this book on your list of things to read! I really enjoyed the journey I took with the characters and was completely submerged into this story. I could imagine myself as if I were in this world and living through this adventure. It was beautifully written. It had so much depth and detail that your imagination could easily create the authors world that she portrayed. I would most certainly recommend this book. In fact I would put it at the top of the recommend list. I can NOT wait to read the next installment to this series!! Please continue writing because I am so anxious to read the next book!

Impressed beyond words with this first time published author! She has awed me with her intake and twist on the vampire genre, just when you'd think there's nothing else to write about them, an author like Font comes along and kicks you in the shins! There's so much out there to experiment with. Harrow, alongside the rest (vampires and humans alike) have already earned a place in my heart, their wittiness, smart-mouth, courage, love, and revenge are very well developed. Font drags you alongside Harrow's plight to earn his place and return what he has been given, a second chance, by proving himself to those around him. Jordan learns that there is much more than living and existing solely on revenge, that there's atonement even for those like her. They learn of this by a wonderful human named Pritchard Track, who wants to find a cure for Harrow's disease. Believable,as a reader I bought the whole story. This book is one of those that make you experience very nonficional feelings about fiction characters. As a whole, I'm thrilled and bouncing up and down until the next book 'Tormented'. There's so much still unsaid and loose ends to tie! Somehow I know and hope this author delievers!!!

I started reading Hunted without much expectation for the new author, but Ms. Font surprised me. Her vivid tale held my attention from the first chapter until the last one. A true page turner from start to finish, the story and its characters, life-like, funny and entertaining, left me wanting to learn about them and their struggles. The descriptions left very little to the imagination, feeling like I was watching a movie instead of reading the book. This is a must read for everyone. I'm anxiously awaiting for the next book.

I so loved this book! Such a interestingly new take on the vampires we all love! Tor and Harrow are hilarious! Jordan is a beautiful hot mess who steals Harrow's broken heart and Rohnert...oh I love me some Rohnert and can't wait for his book!

A great, action-packed read!

Read my interview with the gang at Tack Enterprise. Wow! Rohnert made me weak in the knees! :)

Transformation Causes Plague ... Patient Zero Of The Vampire Infection

This series must be read in order. This is the first book.

Harrow never even knew about vampires until he was attacked and turned by one. He had no idea that his life was about to be transformed into a living Hell until he woke up... Not dead and with these horrible lesions covering most of his body. He had no idea he was contagious until he started seeing more vampires afflicted like himself. So he takes precautions... No actual feeding... He uses syringes to get his meals. No physical contact with anyone else EVER unless he has no choice. No sex. It has been a horrible 50 years of running and hiding and starving and suffering until the night he meets For and they are both kidnapped by humans. What is going to happen to him now? What do they want with him? Is this some new form of torture? He thought it was bad enough being hunted... But life as a prisoner has to be worse right?

This book is full of mysteries and intrigues. There are thrills and chills along with some romance to spice up the paranormal action and adventure. This series posits that vampires have been around as long as humans if not longer. They are a different species that has always existed. Pure bloods are rare and a dying breed. They rule the rest of the vampires and are actively hunting the infected to eradicate them and therefore preserve their race. I loved the believability of the plot and the unique and interesting characters! I can't wait to read the next book Tormented (The Gateway Legacy Book 2)!

***This series is suitable for adult readers

as in life nothing comes easy... For Harlow even death doesn’t seem all that easy for him either. Because of his “ability” to infect humans as well as vampires, Harlow if forever looking over his shoulder. Harlow has his own demons to battle as well mostly guilt and the fact he doesn’t want to hurt anyone...he may have found a way to right the wrong.
Prichard Tack runs a human/vampire facility that is in the midst of trying to find a cure. Prichard’s people captures Harlow... And one other who is part of the vampire council out to end Harlow by whatever means is necessary.
Whats a vampire story with out a stunning female? Meet Jordan... When they say revenge is best served cold.. They must have had Jordan in mind, since her turn she’s had one single minded thought. Payback.. When she is caught by Prichard’s team and then being around Harlow... Will her thirst for revenge take a backseat?
Harlow and Jordan...so very unlikely to find any type of feelings for each other, but then that slight bit of their humanity that is they both fight to keep.. Only defines who they were... Who they are... And where they go from here.
Hunted - a remarkable set of characters, full of personality and emotions. A full story line that melds wonderfully with both main and secondary characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Despite me thinking everything had been covered by a saturated vampire market Lorenz has captured a story that is quite unique. The characters I developed a soft spot for. The writing style was superb, the story flowed and it was nice and meaty. There was plenty of explanation so you knew exactly what was happening. There was one gripe and it is more a personal thing than the story to be honest. I don't want to spoil the story but something fairly big does happen later in the book. Now given harrow is a fairly new character to the 'family' I found it slightly odd that he kind of seemed the most affected by this big happening. For me, surely the characters who had been around for years and were personal friends would have been more affected. Bit like someone stealing the attention. As I readit, it just seemed a bit odd. But like I said, it was a fairly small gripe and more a personal gripe of mine. It certainly doesn't detract from the story and I would thoroughly recommend this book. In fact, I am eagerly awaiting the rest of the trilogy. It was so enjoyable to read, real life was annoyingly in the way!!

~~~Dee's Review~~~
Vampire stories have never been my cup of tea. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. So, feeling a responsibility to read it, I began the journey into the vampire world with a reluctance. However, I quickly found myself engrossed and captured by the drama unfolding. While it's my first vampire story, it certainly won't be my last, totally due to the brilliant writing of Ms. Font.
The descriptions and the information needed to understand such a strange world was perfect. The story plot grabbed me early on and kept me enthralled through out the journey. The drama is intense and at one fight scene has you holding your breathe. There are places you smile, places you feel love and places you cry. All the elements of a good story are present in this book. By the end of the journey, I felt very comfortable with a world of both humans and vampires and eagerly look forward to book 2.
I wish I there is a higher rating than 5 stars. I loved everything about the book. The premise, the twist, and the crafty way the author incorporated ‘ang mamatay ng dahil sa iyo’ theme into the story.
The action sequence is amazing. I never thought the concept of a vampire with conscience was ever possible, but Hunted made it believable. The protagonist is flawed and yet lovable. I can’t wait for the sequel.
This is an ARC from Netgalley. Thank you to the publisher and author for the read.
5 stars-only because yes I would read it again. With the hundreds and hundreds of different variations of vampire stories out there, honestly in the back of your head you expect the same ol same ol. Not with Hunted and I hope this holds true into the next book. The different spin on this book was undoubtedly its best quality.
Let me start with this book was unlike any vampire series I have read! It started a little slow for me but I quickly realized it took a moment to reveal the characters at play and why they were there. Was truly an interesting twist on vampires and good and evil within a vampire society. Well worth the read and am looking forward to reading the next book Tormented.
