Story

HOW IT STARTED

It all started with being invited to complete the Three Peak's Challenge in July. I didn't feel like I could fundraise for just this as I had already completed it once before...I needed something to push me to the limit to really earn your generous donations. So 1 challenge turned into 12!!

Those who know me know I'm a pretty active person so each challenge focuses on a different type of fitness to push myself in a different (horribly hard!) way each month.

Have a look below to see my plan so far...there might be a few changes due to work etc but I promise it will be just as brutal!

THE CHALLENGES

July - 3 Peak's Challenge

Climb the three tallest peak's in England (Scafell Pike), Scotland (en Nevis) and Wales (Snowdon) within 24 hours including drive time)

August - 100km Thames Path walk.

This means jogging/walking just under 2.5 marathons in one day.

September - Para10

10 miles of hilly, muddy terrain with water obstacles whilst carrying a 35lb bag (weight of a small child) and wearing ankle boots and trousers. I'm not quite sure how I got talked into this one! Have a look at this link to see a former world boxer attempt and fail this challenge!!

October - Running the London tube lines!

I will be running 3 tubelines over 9 days.

- Victoria line - Walthamstow Central to Brixton 24km/ 15 miles

- Northern line (Morden to High Barnet via Bank) - 40km/ 25 miles

- Bakerloo line (Elephant & Castle  to Harrow and Wealdston) -29km/ 18 miles

TOTAL OF 93 km/58.2 miles/ 73 tube stops

November -30 mile ultra marathon - White Rose in Yorkshire

An extremely hilly course with often quite extreme weather conditions. All participants have to carry an emergency kit for the entirety of the race.

December - swim a marathon throughout the month

Ignoring the few days around Christmas this means swimming approx 1 mile/day :S !!

January - Running the London tube lines! (part two)

Circle line Sloane square to Victoria (the long way around!!) 15 miles

Hammersmith & City -Hammersmith to Barking 22 miles

Metropolitan line  - Aldgate to Uxbridge -24 miles

m

February - Triathlon (my version)

Race a half marathon - Swim 2 miles  - Cycle 25 miles

March - 100 mile bike ride

Pretty self explanatory!

April - Paris marathon

May - Liverpool marathon

June - 50km ratrace

This is a 5km course with a  20+ obstacles including water slides, spacehoppers, ball pits and water obstacles!

July - 12 labours of Hercules THE WORST ONE!!!!

24 hours to complete as many of the 12 labours as possible (starting at 1 mile and ending at 12 miles). The goal - although not many achieve it - is complete 72 miles including 17,000m of ascent and completing a challenge at the top of each of the twelve peaks!

Potentially the hardest challenge of all...NO chocolate for the 12 months!! Yes, me, the absolute chocolate fiend is willing to give this up for the great cause that is  the British Heart Foundation.

ARITIES

St Gemma's Hospice
St Gemma's Hospice is very close to my heart and I have seen first hand the amazing work they do for terminally ill people in the last stages of their life and for their families that they leave behind. It is the biggest hospice in Yorkshire and the support and care it provides is priceless.

British Heart Foundation
The British Heart Foundation raises funds to fight the UK's single biggest killer - heart disease.
The progress we have made against this disease is incredible
           - 4/5 babies with heart problems used to die before their first birthday....now 7/10 heart attack victims go home to their family.
But there is still a long way to go. With your donations you can help to fund the incredible research that saves lives. A charity that will stop more families going through the pain of losing a loved one too young.

As JustGiving won't let me split my fundraising, I have two separate pages. Please click on this link if you wish to donate to British Heart Foundation:

Thank you so much for reading this.

Any small donation would be very much appreciated :)

Also, any challenges you would like to suggest to fill in the gaps would also be great!

Lots of love
