The popular Mazda 6 debuted with some major changes at the 2017 L.A. Auto Show.
Refreshed for the 2018 model year, the Mazda6 is attempting to move upmarket with a new Signature trim that adds features such as Nappa leather, wood trim, and UltraSuede NU accents. In fact, the interior has been overhauled significantly with only the steering wheel and a few small accent pieces carrying over from the current model. Up front, there are all new seats that are wider and equipped with higher-density foam that promises to deliver enhanced support on long trips. And for the first time for Mazda, the seats are available with ventilation.
Exterior changes are much more subtle, with a new front grille that is flanked by standard LED headlamps. New wheels are also available from 17 to 19 inch, along with a new paint shade called Sumptuous Soul Red Crystal.

But arguably the biggest change lurks under the hood, with the available 2.5-liter turbocharged engine with 227 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. If you live in an area with 93-octane gasoline, power output gets nudged to 250 hp. Those looking for better fuel economy can opt for a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with cylinder deactivation.
The 2018 Mazda6 will arrive dealerships next spring with pricing to be announced closer to its launch.
