We’re excited to announce the launch of new user profiles, which allow all registered members of TopUniversities.com to access personalised content to match their interests and study plans, while staying up to date with relevant announcements, rankings and events.

If you haven’t signed up for a profile yet, do it now! It’s quick, easy, and totally free – and it means you’ll get access to a huge range of materials to help you in your university search, study abroad planning and career preparation.

Once you’ve registered, here’s how to make the most of the new profiles…

1. Tell us what you’re interested in

The first time you visit the site as a registered user, you’ll see an overlay prompting you to tell us what study level, subjects and study destinations you’re interested in. Choose the relevant options from the list and click ‘save’. We’re now ready to show you the most relevant content!

2. Explore your personal user area

Any time you visit TopUniversities, click on your user profile icon at the top of the screen. This will bring you to your personal user area, which has four sections: Discover, My Activity, My Interests, and My Account.

3. Browse the ‘Discover’ section

The ‘Discover’ section is filled with content selected on the basis of your chosen study level, subject/s and study destination/s. Browse the content here to discover relevant guides, articles and blog posts to help you get the information you need.

4. Save and share content in ‘My Activity’

If you find something especially helpful, you may want to share it on social media to help others, or just save it for yourself to read another day. You can do both by clicking on the ‘Save’ or ‘Share’ options. Next time you visit the site, simply click on ‘My Activity’ for a record of everything you’ve saved or shared. If you want to delete anything, simply click on the ‘X’.

5. Update your list of interests

You can change or add to your list of selected interests at any time, by clicking on the ‘My Interests’ section of your user area. The more interests you select, the more content you’ll be shown in the Discover section.

6. Update your personal details

Click on ‘My Account’ to check and update your personal details – including your name, password, location, and whether you’d like to sign up for our email newsletters (they’re awesome, so make sure you do). You can also upload a photo to use as your profile picture, which will show up when you post comments or contribute in our student forums.

7. Stay up to date with news and trending content

For instant updates on the latest articles, guides, news and ranking releases, check the ‘Notifications’ section at the right-hand side of your user area. Here you can also see what content is trending among other users, and check if there are any upcoming university fairs in your location.

Additional features are coming soon, so keep checking back for even more options! And if you have any questions or feedback, please let us know by leaving a comment below.
