Nate Diaz taped an appearance for "Conan" on Tuesday. Conor McGregor couldn't let that slide without chiming in.
In a video message to Diaz on the TBS show, McGregor vowed to get his revenge at UFC 202 on Aug. 20 in Las Vegas. And he took a few shots at Diaz in the process.
"I'm taking this contest very, very seriously," McGregor said. "I've flown in specific body types to replicate Nate's skinny, tall frame. The boy won the lotto the last time. He knows it; I know it. Well, Aug. 20 I get my revenge and I look forward to it."
Diaz beat McGregor via second-round submission at UFC 196 in March. That was the highest grossing UFC pay-per-view card of all time and now the two men will do it all over again in a few weeks. This is likely just the first salvo in what will be a very entertaining lead up to UFC 202.
"I just hope he's not up on that stage wearing that stupid black t-shirt that he's never out of," McGregor said. "The boy has been wearing that same damn t-shirt for the past 20 years or something."
After the video, Diaz began unbuttoning his dress shirt to reveal that very same black t-shirt. Diaz told Conan O'Brien that McGregor "got worked" at UFC 196 and UFC 202 will be no different.
"The truth came out and the truth will be Aug. 20 when it goes down again," Diaz said.
