What:The City of Oceanside Parks and Recreation Division is offering an exciting program called “Moonlight Paddle,” where guests will get the chance to enjoy the beauty and romance of Oceanside’s Harbor under the moonlight! A short informational skills session will take place at the Oceanside Outdoor Aquatic Recreation Building (across from the Small Fishing Pier at the Oceanside Harbor) prior to launching the Kayaks.

What: Join Arrowood Golf Course for an island celebration featuring beer vendors, drink specials, local artisans, face painting, and food! This event is free to the public and all ages are welcomed to attend.

Oceanside Fireworks Show

What: The City of Oceanside will host an incredible fireworks display at SoCal Soccer Complex at El Corazon in celebration of Oceanside’s 134th anniversary of the City’s incorporation. Fireworks will begin at 9:00 p.m. There will be food available onsite beginning at 5:30 p.m. This year’s event will feature live entertainment, a family fun zone with inflatables, a picnic area, and food vendors.

When: Monday, July 3, 2023, 5:30pm-10pm

What: Spend 4th of July in Oceanside! Join The Rooftop Bar for a historic flyover featuring the San Diego Salute Formation and a patriotic Presentation of the Colors. The flyover will feature vintage Beechcraft T-34s, propeller-driven, single-engine, military trainer aircrafts, soaring over the Oceanside Pier – a heart pumping reminder and demonstration of freedom, service and independence in SoCal.

What: Celebrate the thriving arts and culture scene in the heart of downtown Oceanside. The First Friday: Oceanside Art Walk will showcase live performances, jewelry, pottery, crafts and pop-up art galleries showcased in local businesses and public spaces.

What: First Friday at Tremont Collective returns for another epic night of eats, drinks, music, chain stitching and more! Tremont Collective (Al Fesko, Atacama, Brixton, Bottlecraft, Shootz, Communal, Stab Magazine and Verve) hosts the community the first Friday of each month for live music, art, food, drinks and giveaways. It’s a great place to spend an evening with friends and family.

What: The Oceanside Historical Society will be hosting their Downtown History Walks for 2023 on the second Saturday of each month beginning at 9:00 a.m. Your tour guide will be a member of the Oceanside Historical Society, eager to show you around beautiful downtown Oceanside! The 2-hour, 1.5 mile history walk tour will begin at the front of the Oceanside Public Library at 300 North Coast Highway (look for the Andrew Jackson Myers plaque) and will show participants the historical significance of local homes, churches & banks, three Irving J. Gill buildings, the Oceanside Pier & bandshell, and a variety of other sites. These walks are free (donations accepted) and open to everyone, and are pleasantly paced so folks of all ages can participate.

What: The Samoan Cultural Festival returns to Oceanside with a week of activities and events. This event is open to the public, will include traditional dancing, live music and performances, cultural competitions, food and local vendors, and more so don’t miss it!

What: Join the Oceanside Museum of Art on the first Sunday of every month for Art For All. This hands-on-art-making experience is available for all art levels, and is free to the public. What: “The First Annual Duke Kahanamoku Invitational Surfing Championship” was a one-day event held December 15, 1965 at Sunset Beach in perfect 10-12 foot surf. Twenty-four of the world’s best surfers were invited to compete. The television film coverage was directed by Larry Lindberg, a pioneer in sports television coverage in the early 1960s who was the first to package and produce televised surf competition for the major national television networks.

13, The Musical at The Brooks Theatre

What: Step into the enchanted world of Broadway’s classic, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, an international sensation that has been produced in 37 countries worldwide. What: Join Mellano Farm Stand for Watermelon, Watermelon, and more Watermelon! Their delicious watermelon is in season and what better time to come pick up your own local watermelon but to enjoy a day at the farm with all things Watermelon. Live music from 11am-2pm by Mason Jopes. Food trucks and local vendors will be selling their artisanal items.

What: Each summer, the Oceanside Museum of Art hosts this celebration of open-air painting, with artists convening at locations across the city to capture its inimitable coastline, cityscapes, lagoons, rolling hills, and historic buildings and vistas. All skill levels are invited to participate, and no membership is required. The event includes workshops led by featured artists, an art sale and awards celebration, and a plein air juried exhibition and auction.

What: The two-act play, written by Synthia L. Hardy and directed by Bryan Rasmussen combines storytelling and song to capture the essence of Billie Holiday’s music and life. Musician Woody Woods joins Hardy on stage as Holiday’s pianist accompanying her through hits including the haunting “Strange Fruit,” as well as “God Bless the Child,” “Good Morning Heartache,” and “Lover Man.”

What: Head to a local Oceanside park every month for Movie in the Park. This month, Oceanside Parks and Recreation will show “Minions: The Rise of Gru” at Mance Buchanon Park. Crafts and games will be available for use at 7. The movie will begin roughly at 8pm. This event is free to the public.
