Cyber Security Updates for Government Contractors

Does your government contracting business develop software or use a product with software in it? If so, you need to watch this important cybersecurity webinar. At the end of this seminar, the attendees will be able to: Assess and mitigate risk within your software development process, and take a look at costs associated with cybersecurity based on federal government estimates. Understand how a shift in software security policy now places a burden of security requirements on the software developers rather than the end user, including a shift from DevOps to DevSecOps. Understand how the new mandates, including EO 14028, OMB M-22-18, and NIST 800-128, that the US federal government now requires of software producers, software suppliers, and manufacturers and suppliers of products/widgets that contain software must adhere to, affect those organizations. Leverage best practices to meet new federal secure software development framework requirements. Understand why SBOMs, artifacts, and evidence of compliance are now expected and required from companies developing or selling software that would be sold to the US federal government. Other benefits to attendees: CodeLock CEO, Brian Gallagher, will highlight how PTAC/APEX members can benefit from recent grants to assist in automating aspects of the compliance process within their software development process and their software supply chain. He will also give a brief history of the reasons why new mandates were put in place, including an overview of the SolarWinds attack as well as the business consequences for SolarWinds, plus an Intro to “Stay Cyber Safe: What Every CEO Should Know About Cybersecurity”, a book co-authored by Brian Gallagher, an Amazon Best Seller now in its second edition, that provides an easy-to-understand overview of changes in cybersecurity over the last decades and answers commonly asked questions.
