MSNBC cancels Alec Baldwin’s talk show following outburst
Alec Baldwin leaves criminal court in New York after testifying in the case of Canadian actress Genevieve Sabourin, who was later found guilty of stalking the actor.
MSNBC has ended Alec Baldwin’s short-lived interview program, two weeks after the actor’s outburst at a photographer that included an anti-gay slur.
The NBCUniversal-owned cable channel confirmed Tuesday that the network and Baldwin had mutually agreed to end “Up Late,” which had also suffered low ratings since its October debut.
“We are jointly confirming that ‘Up Late’ will not continue on MSNBC,’” Baldwin and MSNBC said in a joint statement. MSNBC added: “This is a mutual parting and we wish Alec all the best.”

Earlier this month, the cable channel suspended the show for two weeks following Baldwin’s caught-on-camera tirade in New York City. Baldwin apologized, and the show was supposed to resume production on Friday.
The latest controversy involving the quick-tempered actor snowballed after TMZ published video of him climbing out of a car and berating a photographer with a vulgar gay slur. The episode occurred several months after Baldwin lashed out at another journalist, calling him “a toxic little queen.”
