The two new models have been equipped with the reference design PCBs which feature the customized cooling solutions. Considering these are the R9 290 series, the cooling feature is extremely important and this is primarily because performance can be affected by the rise in temperature levels on the GPU. Fan speed profiles have been tailored on both the models to the transitional linear mode and the company believes that this mode can get a higher performance.
