Another key Alabama recruiting target is set to make his announcement during All-Star Week. Five-star defensive tackle

announced on Thursday that he will make his final decision between Kentucky and Alabama on January 4 at the U.S. Army All-America Bowl.

Elam, a 6-foot-6, 350-pound nose guard from Elizabethtown, Kentucky, was previously considering Notre Dame as well but has apparently dropped the Fighting Irish from consideration. Elam is rated by 247Sports as the nation's No. 2 defensive tackle prospect and is considered by many to be the country's top true 3-4 nose guard prospect.

While Alabama has pursued Elam heavily throughout the recruiting process, Elam has expressed plenty of enthusiasm about joining Mark Stoops' impressive debut recruiting class at Kentucky.

"UK is in my home state that I want to make proud and is close to my heart," Elam

. "As for Bama, it's an opportunity that not a lot of people can pass up

.

Nick Saban stayed and kept his word."

Elam is rated the No. 7 overall prospect in the nation according to 247Sports.
