The recently launched Bristol University Press (BUP), encompassing the award-winning Policy Press imprint, is searching for its first global Sales and Marketing Director.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Management Team as we develop and deliver ambitious plans for a new university press. Reporting to the Chief Executive, you will lead the sales, marketing, rights and distribution teams and functions, driving the commercial expansion of the Press and raising brand awareness globally.
Responsibilities include:
- Setting and delivering revenue growth targets
- Marketing strategy, setting and delivery of marketing KPIs
- Sales, rights and distribution strategies and implementation
- Global brand development
- Resource allocation and cost management
- Management of customer service experience.
We are looking for an exceptional publishing professional who is driven to make an impact in the publishing world, and on scholars and readers in the competitive academic, professional and scholarly trade publishing arenas.
You will have a strong record of achievement at a senior level in sales and/or marketing within scholarly/higher education publishing. Significant experience in the use of data analytics to improve performance is crucial, and experience in the scoping and implementation of technology systems and platforms would be valuable.
You will bring energy, enthusiasm and creativity to the role, and will provide actionable strategic insight thoughtfully and articulately. A leader who works collaboratively, you will know that organisations thrive by bringing out the best in their people and you will inspire, motivate and guide others to reach goals.
This is a full-time role based at our offices at The University of Bristol in the heart of one of the UK’s most creative cities. Flexibility for home-working for part of the week will be considered. Competitive salary and benefits package.
