Giving Tree {Holidays}

We got the tallest Christmas Tree I've ever had this year. This weekend, we finally got around to decorating it. Doobie was pretty tuckered out by the time all of the ornaments were hung.

Now that our home is decked out and trimmed, it's time to place some presents under that giant Douglas Fir. Earlier in the season, I came across an image for the popular "Four Gift Rule." But this one from Birthing Me proposed a fifth gift: a handmade treasure to round out the retail purchases with something from the heart.

In recent years I've liked to include something handmade for several reasons. Besides the time and care involved, I just appreciate anything thoughtful and like to pay that forward whenever I can. But with all of the toys that my son receives from the many special people in our lives, I like to give him something special that matters to him and hopefully he can remember and cherish for years to come.

The same goes for anyone else I get the opportunity to gift to. And being me, I like to make the simple packaging pretty as well :) So I created some printable tags perfect for this gift giving practice!
