The future of business matchmaking apps

Introduction

Traditional methods used at tradeshows are gradually fading away and becoming obsolete. While live events may still have cocktails sessions, exchange of business cards and delivery of elevator pitches, most of the sponsors and attendees leave with empty promises to stay connected and keep in touch. No matter how cynical I may sound here, but the truth is that in an age of disruptive innovation there are more viable ways to create meaningful partnerships and network. This is the time to move to a digital platform and disrupt an order that has remained unchanged for decades. And that is why there is a need to have business matchmaking apps at events.

The reasons for having a business matchmaking are plenty. For instance, consider an event where you want to get more funding and not stretch your budget. You invite sponsors that want to unveil and showcase their recently launched product. As an agreement, you commit a certain number of leads to your sponsor. But what next? How do you ensure your sponsors attract the right audience at your event? Enters the matchmaking app. With this simple app, you can connect sponsors to the right set of audiences and make your event relevant for everyone. That is the power of a matchmaking app! Now let’s look what it can do for you.

Why is business matchmaking app better than business cards?

The traditional matchmaking provided through the exchange of business cards is not streamlined. Let’s face it: it is very random and has a more “do-it-yourself” approach. Moreover, the traditional process does not ensure that your sponsors or exhibitors get the relevant audience. It is a hit and trial method that not only involves the data entry of all the business cards collected at the event, but also increases your sales lifecycle. Not to mention the errors that may creep while entering the data.

In contrast, a business matchmaking app allows attendees to directly contact exhibitors and sponsors and schedule 1:1 appointment. The process is simple: quickly scan the badge of any delegate and get all the data like email, phone number, company, title, address and other important profile questions safely stored in your company’s CRM. With real-time data fed into the system, exhibitors and sponsors can track the data without worrying about human errors. Now is the time to say goodbye to good old business cards. And oh, did I mention all the paper that you can encourage your delegates to save? You won’t even have the hassle to collect and store a bundle of business cards – all the important information you need will be available on your mobile phone, tablet, laptop, and PC screens. With a matchmaking app like Matchleads, you can:

·        Set up one-on-one meetings

·        Create open, closed and semi-open matchmaker events

If you want to increase adoption of this technology in events you need to get real with your pricing. i was quoted $50 per attendee, which is simply unrealistic. This tech only works to support a commitment to a 1-2-1 meeting event. it doesn't make it happen without a lot of human effort behind it.
