The Wisconsin Department of Health Services says the flu bug is hitting Wisconsiites hard, spiking to nearly 1,000 confirmed cases and hundreds of hospitalizations.

There are 936 confirmed cases as of right now, compared to 176 at this time last year.

To help protect yourself from the flu, the department recommends washing your hands, coughing into your upper sleeve, using your own cups and utensils, and avoiding people who are sick.
