WHEN SIGNING UP: If you are volunteering on behalf of one of the 17 Community Partners, please indicate that agency name in the notes box after signing up before clicking "Submit Opportunity."
Please note: When signing up, you can only sign up yourself. The system will not allow you to sign up for multiple spots within one shift. If you are wanting to volunteer with a group, everyone will need to sign up individually for that shift.
Please keep in mind that this is a physically demanding volunteer opportunity. You will be standing on concrete and moving quickly without a break for your 2.5 to 3-hour shift. It is required to wear closed toe shoes like tennis shoes and a baseball cap to volunteer in the parlor. If you have long hair, please tie it back and wear a baseball cap.
At this time, we are not requiring volunteers to wear masks while in the parlor. However, this could change based on COVID-19 cases. With it being a small space, our goal is to keep everyone safe. Thank you for your cooperation!
EVENING SHIFT: The night shift will end at 9:30 PM instead of 10:30 PM. Total shift time is two and a half hours plus time to clean up.
*AGE REQUIREMENT: Volunteers must be 16 and older to volunteer. Please contact Allie at allie@heartlandunitedway.org with questions about age requirements.
MANDATORY TRAINING: Online video training is available to all volunteers. Link is available below and it will be emailed out prior to the Nebraska State Fair. If you are new to Scoops, please let Allie know if you would like in-person training at allie@heartlandunitedway.org

Ice Cream Parlor tasks include scooping ice cream, running cash register, stocking and running ice cream. Great customer service skills are greatly appreciated! You must be able to perform all tasks.
STATE FAIR ENTRANCE TICKETS are available for pick up at the Heartland United Way (1441 N. WEBB ROAD).
