Catrina’s African honeymoon in Tanzania quickly becomes an FBI mission when her new husband, Patrick Ahearn, is called to the Congo to assist his brother in his investigation into gem-smuggling activities and the disappearances of other FBI agents in the area. There, they find the sought-after emerald that prompted Patrick’s involvement, but his brother Robert has disappeared under suspicious circumstances. As they work against a dangerous cartel and deception among their own group, it becomes clear to Catrina that Patrick’s assurance that their honeymoon would be unforgettable is a promise that will be kept.
This book for me was not as good as the first with the story line. The conversations were beyond stilted. There were many editing errors in this book as well as the first in the series. I’ll became ill, names were misspelled, random capitalization errors and punctuation were among the most popular. While I appreciate the dedication it takes to write a book, I still have to give it one star.
