CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Charlotte Mecklenburg Police are looking for two men after an attempted armed robbery and carjacking in east Charlotte Wednesday afternoon.

Police say one person was shot and the suspects took off while a child, a little girl, was still in the backseat of black SUV.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Parkland Circle, which is off of East W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Police tell WBTV they located the SUV at the Delta Crossing apartment complex less than a mile away and that the child was safe and not hurt.

Our cameras were there as the owner of SUV got his vehicle back. He wouldn't tell us his name and said he didn't know much but he did reveal he let a friend borrow his SUV.

"He was gonna move some stuff, but I don't know what happened," the owner said.

The man also told us he didn't know who his friend was riding with but that he wasn't the one shot.

"I have no idea," he said. "The one that was driving wasn't shot -- he wasn't the one that was shot."

The man shot was taken to Carolinas Medical Center – Main from the scene with serious injuries.

No arrests have been made, but detectives are looking for two suspects.
