DU ranked among top 10 universities in India

University of Delhi has been ranked among the top ten varsities in the country by Quacquarelli Symonds University World Rankings. Karnataka's Manipal University was ranked highest among private universities in the country.

NEW DELHI: University of Delhi has been ranked among the top ten varsities in the country by a global ranking company in its list released for 2018.
University of Delhi was ranked in the 481-491 band in the world rankings list making it the 8th top university in the country after the top ranked IIT-Delhi.
The data was released yesterday by Quacquarelli Symonds University World Rankings which is an annual publication of university ranking by a British company Quacquarelli Symonds specialised in education and study abroad.

The rankings are based on six performance indicators across four areas - research, teaching, employability and internationalization.
Karnataka's Manipal University was ranked highest among private universities in the country.
For the first time, Manipal University figured in 701-750 band, placing it at 13th position in the country.
The performance indicators are - academic reputation, employer reputation, student-to-faculty ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty ratio and international student ratio.
Vice Chancellor of Manipal University H Vinod Bhat said, "Our focus now is to be sub-600 in the 2019 World Rankings. I am certain that we will get there."
