Communications Officer - Role profile

* If you are applying internally for a secondment, you must be employed on a permanent contract working continuously for 12 weeks or more.  If you are currently on probation, you will be expected to complete your probationary service in the new role. This role will be within the Inclusive Economy Team of the Economic Development Department. The team’s work focuses on making living and working in Plymouth fairer and greener.

This role is part of a two-year project funded by European Regional Development Fund through the Interreg Channel programme (FCE) until 31 March 2023.

C-Care is a partnership of four English & three French organisations along with a much wider network of stakeholders and previous Interreg projects from the FCE area who have developed a unique and ambitious package of targeted support in response to some of the socio-economic  impacts of the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Covid-19 has affected every area of life in the FCE area and the C-Care project aims to address issues where the impacts have been the greatest.

C-Care consists of four work packages aimed at supporting individuals at risk of exclusion and businesses at risk of closure in order to reverse some of the negative impacts of the pandemic.

We are recruiting a Communications Officer, as part of a wider team. This role will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of communications for the Inclusive Growth programme of work for the Economic Development team, and will involve working with multiple external partners involved in the Interreg C-Care partnership.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate experiences of delivering communications campaign activities and of working within a marketing and PR environment.

The project contributes to the delivery of the Resurgam Charter, which is part of Plymouth’s Resurgam programme for economic recovery.

This role will work with C-Care Partners to understand COVID impact and response and apply that to delivery in Plymouth. Delivery consists of creating and delivering communications for the Interreg partner project. You will work as part of a delivery team and work with specialist teams elsewhere in the council and with wider partners.
