Story
Donna Abberley is a close friend of my wife. Sadly, Donna's daughter Georgia, passed away at aged 8.
Every day another 10 children will be diagnosed with cancer; 10
families lives will change forever. Every week 10 children will die. We lose 550 children each year.
Cancer is the number 1 cause of death in children under 14, yet childhood cancer receives less than 2% of the research budget in the UK. We need to find a cure for cancer. We need to support those organisations who help to battle the disease.
We need to help families cope with gruelling treatment and years of side effects.
Georgia, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia. She was 7. Georgia spent the next 11 months battling the disease. After 5 rounds of chemotherapy, 4 visits to intensive care, a stem cell transplant, over 250 days in hospital with numerous weeks spent in isolation and finally relapse...she passed away on 13 December 2015.
No child should have to suffer cancer. No more children should die. No more families should be torn apart. We must stop childhood cancer now.
